The Canadian exploration company, Canalaska Uranium Ltd., has staked 11,143 hectares in the Constellation Project within the Eastern Athabasca Basin. This area is now the largest and most strategic uranium exploration project in Canada.
Canalaska Uranium Ltd. is looking to benefit from the project’s proximity to high-grade uranium deposits such as the McArthur River, Key Lake, Cigar Lake and Rabbit Lake mines.
The Constellation Project includes an extensive network of uranium-bearing sandstones as well as a host of other geological features such as the contact between the sub-Athabasca and Athabasca Basins. These geological features provide a strong foundation for exploration for high-grade mineralization.
Canalaska’s initial focus will be to evaluate the project’s potential for high-grade uranium mineralization and collect samples to assess the uranium grade of the mineral packages. This information will be returned to their laboratories and assessed using radio-chemical and x-ray imaging to decipher the composition of the mineral packages and better understand their uranium potential.
Canalaska’s commitment to the Constellation Project reflects the potential of the Eastern Athabasca Basin and confirms that Canalaska remains committed to making discoveries in the high grade uranium space. By utilizing their extensive industry experience and expertise, Canalaska is confident in its ability to continue their work to build value in the project. With advancements in uranium extraction processes, our society is keen to benefit from this renewable energy source. By staking this project, Canalaska is providing us with the opportunity to move closer to clean energy sources.
